PRIVATE LIVES

By Noel Coward

PRODUCTION DATES: Sunday 18th to Saturday 24th November 2018

DIRECTOR: Malcolm Cooper

AUDITION DATE: Tuesday April 24th 2018 at 7.30pm

THE PLAY:

1930. Deauville, France. Two newly-married couples occupy adjoining honeymoon suites in the same hotel. As a distant orchestra plays, Sibyl gazes adoringly at charismatic husband Elyot, while Victor admires his new wife, the vivacious and sophisticated Amanda.

Champagne flows and the sea shimmers in the moonlight as the newlyweds prepare for the evening ahead. But when Amanda overhears a familiar voice singing a forgotten song, an old spark re-ignites, with spectacular consequences.

THE CAST:

ELYOT CHASE: Sibyl's rich and handsome new husband who was formerly married to Amanda. He has a quick and cutting wit that he wields throughout the play.

SIBYL CHASE: An attractive, first-time bride who feels very threatened by her new husband's first wife, Amanda.

AMANDA PRYNNE: A beautiful second-time bride (she was formerly married to Elyot, and is now married to Victor) with a fiery temper and a tendency toward impulsive behaviour.

VICTOR PRYNNE: Amanda's second husband, (a few years older than Elyot), who is very pleased to describe himself as "normal."

LOUISE: A French maid.
